CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE SODIUM, LOW VISCOSITY, 10-50 CPS, USP, is commonly refered to as CMC and is a cellulose derivative with many uses. Due to its high viscocity and the fact that it is non toxic, it is often used as a thickener and stabilizer emulsion in various edible products. It is also used in non-food products such as laundry detergents, toothpaste, water-based paint detergents and many others. The properties of CMC vary according to the substitution of the cellulose structure. Spectrum Chemical manufactured USP products are manufactured, packaged and stored under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) per 21CFR part 211 in FDA registered and inspected facilities.
